Katie Finneran was raised in Miami, Florida. After a brief stint in conservatory training, she left college to make her mark in the entertainment industry. She quickly began racking up credits in theater, film and television. She has appeared in 电子情书 (1998), 自由高地 (1999) and Night of the Living Dead (1990). Her television work includes appearances on Frasier (1993), Oz (1997) and Sex and the City (1998). Her greatest achievements have been onstage. Katie shot to stardom with her winning, witty turn as Brooke Ashton in 迈克·弗雷恩's farce "Noises Off!", for which she received critical acclaim and a 2002 Drama Desk and Tony Award for her portrayal. Katie left the show on July 14, 2002, to begin her work on the CBS sitcom Bram and Alice (2002).

Wears contact lenses in real life; Brooke Ashton, her character in "Noises Off" - for which she won a Tony - keeps losing hers.

Replaced Lea Thompson as Sally Bowles in the Broadway revival of "Cabaret." She was replaced by Gina Gershon in January 2001. [November 2000]

Attended Carnegie Mellon University for one year before leaving to study acting with Uta Hagen.

Participated in workshops for "Boys of Syracuse", "Passion", "The Beggar's Holiday" and "My Favorite Year"

Won a Drama Desk award as best featured actress in a Broadway play for "Noises Off."

Won Broadway's 2002 Tony Award as Best Actress (Featured Role - Play) for her hilarious portrayal of ditsy Brooke Ashton in a revival of "Noises Off".

Went to New World School of the Arts with producer 兰道尔·艾米特 and Editor Pepe Serventi where they performed on Miami's metro rail to rehearse for their classes.

She studied drama at HB Studio in Greenwich Village in New York City.

She was awarded the 2010 Antoinette Perry "Tony" Award for her performance as Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical for "Promises, Promises,".

Gave birth to her 1st child at age 40, a son Ty Michael Goldstein on February 3, 2011. Child's father is her husband, 达伦·戈德斯坦.
