O-Lan Jones is an award winning composer, sound designer, writer, and actress who has been consistently involved in experimental theater, music, and opera since the age of 16. The press has referred to her as an "uncategorizable legend." She is the Artistic Director for Overtone Industries, currently composing a new music theater/opera hybrid called Iceland, scheduled to present its first phase in July of 2014.

Mother, with 山姆·夏普德, of son named Jesse Mojo Shepard, born in May 1970.

Her unusual name comes from the 赛珍珠 novel "The Good Earth". According to O-Lan Jones, the "O" means profound and "Lan" is a kind of wildflower.

Larry Cox, Shelly DeSai, Marc Epstein, Marek Johnson, Chris Karchmar, Annie LaRussa, Jeremy Lawrence, June Kyoko Lu and she were awarded the 1991 Los Angeles Weekly Award for Outstanding Ensemble Performance for "The Wedding," at the Mark Taper Forum Theatre Too in Los Angeles, California.
